Sometimes I miss my favourite ice cream flavour – Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia — black cherry and vanilla. Oh, wow, is it good. BUT, since it’s not a choice for a diabetic or someone whose completely lactose intolerant, I had to find another way.
I have found that with a little imagination, I can replicate many of the foods I used to enjoy, but were not healthy choices. This smoothie may not exactly be Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, but it does hit the spot.

If you’re looking for dark cherry and vanilla flavour, leave out the raw cacao from the following recipe. But for a chocolate covered cherry theme, raw cacao takes care of that craving.
